Why is the Jal Mahal unique?

Why is the Jal Mahal unique?
The words ‘jal Mahal’ mean ‘water palace’ and the Jal mahal Palace in Jaipur is just that. It was built in the 18th century by maharaja jai singh II of Amber, right in the middle of the man sagar Lake.
Made of red sandstone, it is a harmonious blend of the Rajput and Mughal styles of architecture. The 255 years old palace is a five storeyed building, out of which four floors remain under water when the lake is full, and only the top floor is exposed.
Jal Mahal provides a charming view of the Man Sagar Lake, and the Nahargarh Hills that surround it. The palace was built as a pleasure palace for the royal duck shooting parties. The beauty of the palace comes alive in the evening when the entire complex is bathed in flood lights, and Jal Mahal shines like a jewel nestling in the picturesque Aravali Valley.
